Solar PV changes power flow and can influence voltage at the point of connection. Voltage optimisation may complement renewable investment by addressing the voltage presented to downstream loads, but it does not create solar generation or replace inverter and network controls.
The electrical system can operate differently during low load, high generation, export, import and battery charging or discharge. The assessment must consider each credible mode and the location of the optimiser relative to generation, metering and critical loads.
Where are the point of common coupling, revenue meter, solar connection and optimiser boundary?
Assess the net value of avoided imported energy, optimiser losses, tariff effects and any operational constraints. Report renewable generation and voltage-optimisation savings as separate quantities unless the agreed method justifies another treatment.
